Arctic Thunder Open House

Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson is excited to announce the return of Arctic Thunder Open House, scheduled for July 20 and 21, 2024. This much-anticipated event is free to the public and showcases two full days of world-class aerial acrobatics and military demonstrations featuring the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron Thunderbirds and the U.S. Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights.

General entry is FREE and open to the public. Parking is also free. Gates open at 9 AM to the public, Opening Ceremonies start at 11:15 AM. Use Richardson or Boniface for access to the Open House.

Premium Seating

The Arctic Thunder Open House is offering premium seating options this year! Two options will be available for purchase, Spartan Club and Raptor Club. Both seating options are accompanied with a premium parking pass that will allow you to park as close to the Flightline entry point as possible. Parking is first come, first served. Tickets are sold per day, one parking pass per two ticket purchase.

Raptor Club

The Raptor Club caters to guests looking for the VIP upgraded Open House experience with the absolute best views of the flying action and the Thunderbird ground show. All individuals must purchase a ticket, including children. Babies in arms are free.

In-and-Out access from the Raptor Club area throughout the day
Frontline seating in a spacious, exclusive viewing area
Continental Breakfast, Catered Lunch, non-alcoholic refreshments
Shaded area for meals and relaxing

Please use the Boniface or Richardson gate for access to the Open House.
Opening Ceremonies: 11:15 AM
Join us for the official kickoff of the event. National Anthem/Opening Ceremony with the U.S. Army Golden Knights.

Throughout the day, enjoy a variety of activities including: 75+ static aircraft and ground vehicle displays, 85+ food vendors, the Kids Zone, and a variety of exhibits to explore. Of course, don’t forget about the exciting airplane stunt performances that will be taking place!
