POLAR PARADISE POOL

The Polar Paradise Pool is a recreational swimming pool that includes a water slide, kiddie wave pool, one meter diving board, lazy river, and wading area!

OFFERING:

Toddler Time:

A free recreational program for children ages 5 & under with their supervising adult (18+). The Kiddie Wave Pool at the Polar Paradise Pool is the area available during this time. Toddler Time gives younger children an opportunity to play and get comfortable in the water with children of similar age/size.
Mon.: 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., Tues. & Thurs.: 9 – 11 a.m.

River Fitness:

River Fitness is a self-paced fitness program (not led by an instructor) for individuals ages 16 & older that is held at the Polar Paradise Pool where patrons can walk/run against the current of the river. During River Fitness the lazy river and lap lanes are available, and patrons have access to different types of fitness equipment (medicine balls, water aerobics noodles, resistance gloves, floating hand-weights, kickboards, and floating barbells) to meet their exercise needs. Workouts are posted for patrons to follow if they would like, or they can create their own.
Mon.: 5:30 – 8 p.m., Tues. & Thurs.: 8 – 11 a.m.

Group Swim Lessons

Group swimming lessons are offered for ages 6 months to adult, and registration is done on a month by month basis at the Polar Paradise Pool.
Classes are broken up into the following age groups:
Parent & Child Levels 1 & 2  (6mo-3 years); Preschool Aquatics Levels 1-3 (Ages 4 & 5); Learn-to-Swim Levels 1-6 (Ages 6 & older); Adult Beginner/Intermediate (Ages 15 & older).

Classes meet twice per week for 3 weeks; availability of levels and specific class dates are based on the current month’s schedule. Registration is done at the end of each month for the following session and can be done either in-person at our Fitness Pool office, or over the phone (with payment via credit card) for customer convenience by calling 384-1301. Please check the calendar for upcoming registration dates. Swim evaluations can be done free of charge for individuals who are unsure about what levels are needed, and are scheduled by appointment only.

Private Swim Lessons

The Private Swim Lesson Program teaches confidence and skills in a one-on-one (or two-on-one) setting that children (and adults) need to be safe and successful in the water.  Students are taken on a first-come first-served basis. Students are paired with a swim instructor based on information they provide; the availability of specific instructors is not guaranteed. Those interested in setting up private lessons will fill out a consideration form (found at the Fitness Pool office), and will be contacted by the aquatics department with current offerings. All private lessons must be scheduled in advance via appointment.

Prices per session:
30-minute session: $25 (one-on-one)
45-minute session: $35 (two-on-one)

Swim Test:

The purpose of the swim test to determine ability and stamina by swimming 25 yards using front crawl or breast stroke, tread water for 1 minute and exit the pool without using a ladder.
During Lap Swim:
-Children 5 and under prohibited
-Youth 6-15 must pass swim test/receive appropriate wristband and have direct adult (18+) supervision at all times
Ages 6-12 (red wristband) adult must swim in same lap lane
Ages 13-15 (green wristband) adult must remain in the pool area Ages 16 and older have priority- swim test may be required if ability is questionable.
-Youth 15 and under may not be left unattended in the pool area while their adult swims laps.
-Lifeguards may move swimmers at their discretion.
During Open Swim:
-Ages 0-15 who do not pass the swim test must stay within arm’s reach of an adult (18+) swimmer Youth ages 6-15 who pass the swim test may swim without an adult in the water, and may use deep water attractions.
-Ages 6-12 must be directly supervised by an adult who remains in the pool area Ages 13-15 must have an adult who remains inside the facility Ages 16 and older: no adult supervision needed- swim test may be required if ability is questionable.
Swim tests are by appointment only.

Family Open Swim:

Family Open Swim is a recreational swim time is an opportunity for families to play together in an open pool setting for only $3.
