Child and Youth Program Assistant


The incumbent will serve as a Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) in one or more child and youth programs and will be accountable for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Provides care/supervision, oversight and accountability for program participants. Assists in preparing age appropriate activities.

This position will be assigned to the Moose Run Golf Course as a Laborer.

The incumbent performs significant labor involved with golf course grounds maintenance. Operates heavy, complex riding lawn mowers and similar types of specialized mowing equipment ( e.g., multiple and independently controlled cutting decks, single function components) and/or specially designed riding mowers that operate on slopes and require constant attention to working space and environment.

Lead Recreation Assistant


This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation on JBER.

As a working leader, performs the following types of lead duties: Provides day-to-day advice and guidance to employees for work assignments; relays instructions from the supervisor for work assignments; gets the work started and sets the work pace; demonstrates work methods and provides work-related guidance; ensures that the worksite materials and tools are available; and ensures that employees follow security and safety rules.

The Civilian Personnel Office (CPO) is designated to act as a liaison between the Air Force Personnel Center and civilian personnel at JBER, Alaska. CPO provides assistance for current and prospective civilian employees in a wide variety of areas. Services include, but are not limited to:

• Staffing
• Classification
• Employee and Labor Relations
• Priority Placement Program Enrollment
• Voluntary Leave Transfer Program Enrollment
• Job Fairs

The Human Resources Office (HRO) is designated to administer the NAF personnel program.

There are two types of employment catagories for NAF positions, Regular and Flexible.
Flexible category employees: Work schedules that depend on the need of the activity. These employees may work anywhere from 0-40 hours per week.
Regular category employees: Have regular work schedules between 20 and 40 hours per week depending on the position.

The Military Personnel Section is the central hub for all military personnel actions such as issuing ID cards, awards and decorations, in- and out-processing, evaluations, retirements, separations and more. In addition, MPS also offers Career Development programs include Re-enlistments, Retirements, Outbound Assignments, and Promotions.
